'absence makes the heart grow fonder' dept: the last year was a rough one.my dearest friend and my sister died within a month of each other.for about 9 months i was mourning them, in a total funk, didn't go out much, slept a lot, hardly touched my guitars or listened to any music, didn't do much of ANYTHING.about early january the gloom began to lift.and i began to play the two swedish guitars again.lately for like 3 or 4 hours a day.and it's like they're brand-new to me, i keep thinking "OMG these two guitars are WONDERFUL, i'm so lucky to own them". I dont think i'll own or play steel string (acoustic) guitars again, the sound and feel of nylon (non-classical, more 'folk') guitars like these have taken over my psyche.when i try any steel acoustics nowadays they just dont tickle me-then i go home and play either of my two swedish guitars and it's "AHHHHHHH, THIS SOUND!!" :) Hi jeff.i know what you mean.i am SO connected to my g-10.and to it's 'kinda cousin', a bjarton-made espana (same body size, scale and neck width but with mahogany back & sides, and a fatter neck) The songs I compose on these two guitars are a cross between Paco De Lucia, Jim Croce and Cat Stevens.folky classical/flamenco rhythmic tempo.so unique to my ear and playing style its hard to believe that they are my songs.rather they belong to the G-10's and the tonality of the nylon strings. These two guitars of mine are in a way "spiritually" connected to me, so this is an important issue to resolve. I do appreciate your help regarding the correct case for the G-10.
Goya classical guitar model g 10 serial no. 250672 trial#
the 00 size in a TKL or guardian is what i am going to look for.I live way out in the country near Mount Shasta, CA so we dont really have any guitar shops near by.I have to shop online most of the time, most is trial and error. I recently sold my G-13.as the binding just didnt "feel" or look appropriate to me, more or less a "mojo" kind of thing.I probably should have kept it now that I think of it:( yes the gator 3/4 case in the pic is just a bit too small for the G-10. I know that "parlor" size guitars feel too small and regular size classical guitars feel too large.but the G-10 body is so perfect for me in sizing its my favorite guitar body size. I dont really know much about body sizing for acoustic guitars.

DSCN2401.JPG You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. One pic will show the G-10 fitment inside the Gator 3/4 "parlor" case, tight fit. They both play very well and are still in tact with lots of beautiful crazing/chequing (sp?) Necks are straight and action not too high at all.

I have two Goya G-10's.one is a 1962 and the other is a 1967. The gator case holds that guitar so well, as if it was made for that guitar. I strung it up with nylon strings years ago. I wore most of the paint off of the neck over the years. I bought this case for a guitar that was my grandfathers, that I have played my entire life, repaired several times etc.an old 1964 Silvertone acoustic guitar.probably the most common silvertone you can find on ebay or wherever. I recently picked up a Gator 3/4 "parlor" case and the G-10 fit inside but very tight and the neck floated about 1/2" or more over the neck support. Thanks for the reply.i will take a look at the 00 cases. I can get the Guardian if your local dealer doesn't have one. TKL and Guardian have these in their lines. YMMV.Ī better fit will be obtained with an actual 00 case - as you can imagine, these are a bit pricier. I kept mine in one and it was ok - close enough that I didn't bother padding the case. The body shares the same dimensions of a Martin 14 fret 00 while the neck is a bit shorter.Īny generic classical case (Classical/Dobro/00) will work but the fit may be a little loose, especially on the budget cases. I have a few early 1960's goya G-10 guitars and am trying to find a good case for them.does anyone have a suggestion?
